Interim Leader of Behavioral Health

JOB SUMMARY 

The Interim Leader will be responsible for assisting the in planning, organizing, and staffing functions to ensure the effective operation of the Behavioral Health Department. Will work closely with the leadership team in developing plans, policies, and procedures to efficiently and effectively meet the objectives of providing quality care. Assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing, and managing the department and staff to assure quality service. Responsible for supervision of staff. The Leader is responsible for meeting Joint Commission standards, complying with all state and federal regulations, complying with corporate policy and procedures, promoting teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and for appropriate resource management.

RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrates leadership in patient care and operating activities, directing all personnel and services in several multidisciplinary departments
  • Provides leadership in establishing superior levels of performance in each department and in departmental personnel
  • Assumes the responsibility for the delivery of safe, competent patient care, professional practice, and customer service in the multiple departments within the scope of responsibility
  • Shares information about the hospital, the division, and the departments at least monthly with management staff, actively seeking input to improve customer services
  • Assures annual performance reviews/competencies of department’s staff are completed on schedule
  • Other duties, as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred
  • Five (5) years’ experience in specific clinical area with a minimum of two (2) years previous leadership experience in clinical specialty.
  • Experience within EMR is preferred

LICENSURE & CERTIFICATIONS

Licensure in the state of placement will be required if applicable to role.  Candidates with Compact Licensure are preferred, with the ability to obtain licensure in other states as needed.
