Interim Leader of Case Management

JOB SUMMARY

The Interim Leader of Case Management Services is a Registered Nurse who participates as an active administrative member of the Nursing Management Team.  The Case Management Services Leader assumes 24-hour responsibility in directing and coordinating safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective nursing care for patients on all units/departments.  Principle responsibilities include strategic planning, service delivery, program development, evaluation and implementation, budget and resource management, cost control, contract compliance, quality improvement, utilization management, denials management and management of relationships with post-acute healthcare providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB FUNCTIONS

The Interim Leader of Case Management will oversee the functions of the Case Management Department including, but not limited to, monitoring the work of individual Case Managers to assure that the following functions of the role are completed: Utilization Review for medical necessity of admission and concurrent stay, Social Services Intervention, Discharge Planning, Resource Management, Concurrent Analysis, Delay in Services and Quality Concerns.

The Leader will also be responsible for the appeal process regarding denials of hospitalization.

The analysis of data and reporting of monthly statistics and tracking logs is also a responsibility of this director.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s in Nursing Required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role in an acute care hospital preferred

LICENSURE & CERTIFICATIONS

Licensure in the state of placement will be required.  Candidates with Compact Licensure are preferred, with the ability to obtain licensure in other states as needed
